Plenty of people come to me asking for just a logo. Sometimes that is genuinely all they need. More often, the logo is the part of a bigger problem that happens to be the easiest to name.

What a brand actually is

Your brand is the whole impression someone forms of you, across every place they run into you. The logo is the signature. The brand is the handwriting. A real identity system usually includes:

  • A primary logo plus the variations you need for different sizes and backgrounds.
  • A color palette chosen for your industry and mood, not just what looks nice in isolation.
  • Type pairings and a clear hierarchy, so your headlines and body text always feel like you.
  • Rules and examples, so it stays consistent whether you or a volunteer makes the next graphic.

Why it matters

Consistency is what makes an organization look established. When your website, signage, social posts, and printed materials all clearly belong together, people trust you more, even if they could not tell you why. A lone logo floating on top of mismatched everything else does not buy you that.

So do you need the whole system?

Not always. If you already have a brand you love, I am happy to design a website around it. If your logo is doing all the work by itself and everything else feels scattered, that is usually the real thing worth fixing.

Not sure which camp you are in? Send me what you have and I will tell you honestly.
